Abbie McKnight
Dentist
Dr. McKnight is a native of Omaha Nebraska, growing up a Cornhusker football fan. She sought her college education at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN, receiving her B.S. in Biology in 1993. Though she enjoyed her time in the south, she was happy to return to the Midwest to University of Missouri-KC for her dental education. Not only did she receive her D.D.S. in 1997, as well as her A.E.G.D. in 1998 at UMKC, she also met her husband there and was married while in school. He is a periodontist in Kansas City and they have 2 boys, 24 and 21 years old.
While not caring for patients in the office, Dr. McKnight enjoys playing golf and cooking, as well as hiking and horseback riding at their hideaway in Montana. For Dr. McKnight, the best part of dentistry at this point in her career is the connection with the family of patients she has built over the past 26 years. She also enjoys the improved self-esteem and confidence that she can give to patients through beautiful esthetic dentistry and restored dental health.
Hidden talent: Good navigator, loves to read maps!
Megan Konz
Dentist
Born and raised in Overland Park, KS, Dr. Konz has been a lifelong member of the Kansas City community. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Creighton University in Omaha, NE before returning to University of Missouri – KC for dental school. Graduating in 2016 with her D.D.S., she earned the Best of Best Award for excellence in her graduating class. She joined McKnight Signature Dental in 2016 and has enjoyed providing optimal dental care for the last 8 years.
Dr. Konz has a busy and fulfilling life outside the practice. Married with 3 beautiful children, she doesn’t have a lot of idle time, but when she does, she loves to read, spend time with her rescue dog, Layla, and support small businesses in the area.
Dr. Konz was drawn to the field of dentistry as a child when she went through a transformation with braces. She enjoys building relationships with her patients and working with them to create their best smile. Dr. Konz’s focus is to provide patients with a judgement free visit that is comfortable and educational, because she believes knowledge is the greatest tool in maintaining a healthy mouth.
Hidden talent: Bakes a tasty loaf of sourdough bread!
Melissa Aguirre
Front Office Coordinator
Melissa joined our team in 2022 after returning to Kansas City from California, where she lived for nearly 20 years. She is an adventurer and also spent time in Idaho and Mississippi growing up. She has 3 children, the youngest in 2 nd grade who keeps her on her toes! She has many hobbies including cross-stitch, baking, reading, hiking with her son and camping with her family. Melissa came to us from an oral surgery office which she managed for 19 years. She is always happy to dive in and learn new things about general dentistry.
Interacting with people and making them feel comfortable is what Melissa enjoys most about dentistry. Helping alleviate people’s pain is also rewarding to her.
Hidden talent: She brews a fabulous batch of moonshine!
Laura Dahlor, RDH
Dental Hygienist
Laura is one of our 2 dynamic hygienists, coming onboard in 2019. Though she was born and raised in the Kansas City area, she ventured to California for her hygiene education and received her RDH from UCLA.
She is married with 2 grown daughters who enjoy sharing in fun family traditions and new KC experiences. Laura is a lover of live music and can often be found around town supporting her husband in his band, The Elders. She enjoys travel and reading and her 2 golden retrievers, Finn and Gus.
Creating relationships with patients is what Laura loves about dentistry. She is amazing at creating new ways for patients to get excited about their oral health!
Hidden Talent: Appliance repair – she can fix a washing machine!
Olivia Lowe, RDH
Dental Hygienist
Olivia joined our hygiene team in 2023, graduating from University of Missouri-KC RDH program in 2020. She grew up in the Kansas City area and attended Truman State University prior to hygiene school. She is newly married with 2 darling dogs and enjoys doing fun family activities with her parents and 2 younger brothers. She also works hard in the cycling studio and loves to spend time outdoors with her horses.
Olivia is our newest team member and has really enjoyed establishing a foundation with her new patients. She enjoys learning about their interests and is passionate about educating her patients on ways to improve their oral health.

Sarah Sluder
Dental Assistant
Coming to us from the great state of Texas, Sarah rounds out our fabulous dental assisting team. Sarah has been with McKnight Signature Dental since 2020, though she assisted many years in Texas prior to hopping on board. Her time outside the office is spent mostly watching her darling daughter participate in softball, cheerleading and gymnastics and planning her next tropical vacation.
Being part of a cohesive team at work is what Sarah enjoys most about her job. She also looks forward to providing a variety of treatment solutions to patients on a daily basis.
Hidden talent: Sarah is a pro at scouting out fabulous vacation deals!
